Various parameters of the video display functions can be adjusted using the On-Screen display. Some functions are directly accessible using shortcut buttons placed on the front side of the unit. User profiles and personal data of patients can be stored on the processor and the data is able to be exported with a USB device.

The ELS 21-18 is a modern high intensity Xenon light source with integrated insufflation pump and main applications for gastroscopy and colonoscopy and related procedures. The light source is available with adapters for flexible endoscopes of different manufacturers.

A powerful Xenon glow-discharged lamp is the centerpiece of the unit. The lamp is fixed in a reflector, therfore a calibration will not be necessary. The color temperature of 6000° Kelvin is equal to the color temperature of daylight. A mechanical diaphragm is used to adjust the output intensity without any influence on the color temperature.

The integrated pump delivers air pressure for both insufflating and rinsing. For an emergency, there is a 150 Watt Halogen light source built in. This light source is switched on automatically, when the main lamp went off during work for more than 15 seconds.
